Reflections on the serious matter of choosing alcohol for purpose was asked of me by friend who's daughter has come out of closet as alcoholic. Dosen't matter how you get to be one at this point the question is why. Answer is because it is the easiest and most available way to ease the pain of what one is going through. To become numb to it or be able to shove it away so as not to see it amymore as if it never existed is the belief. Or, lie. Facing the truth is hard TO DO.
In order to LIVE a being has to want to, has to try to overcome obsticles, has to ask for help, has to understand what the effect and outcome will be, that is, the benefits of happiness and joy plus satisfaction for being streched in that which is asked of them. There is no pain. No unhappiness. Only the goodness happiness produces through satisfaction and is given to be shared by others. Without purpose a being is lost, that's why so many religons profess a paradise and eternity, a prize for good works and living justly. While there is some truth in this the real reason is soul growth from infancy to maturity and one day true Wisdom in consciousness of Being. That is why we beings have problems, we do not really understand the correct reason for existance. Learning takes place on each stage of soul growth just like a baby to mature adulthood.
